around 1.00 metre long by 0.50 metres high. The stone lies
beside the west boundary wall of Dirleton Castle.

Dirleton is less than one mile from the A198 between North Berwick
and Edinburgh, in East Lothian region. Take the signposted road
marked B1345.
Parking
There is a small parking area, holding around a dozen or so
vehicles, immediately next to the stone. Parking is also
available elsewhere in Dirleton.
Fieldnotes
Found this unremarkable boulder while visiting the area to
photograph the 050
Piper's Stone located just a few metres away and noticed
this stone lying along the wall. It does not show on old maps
nor is it recorded by RCAHMS. However, I tend to be suspicious
when I find a stone like this. Why is it lying there? Why has it
not been cleared away? Is it a lost antiquity or just a bit of
builders rubble that's been fly-tipped? Answers on a postcard
please?
