Folklore
Cairnpapple Hill is well known locally as an ideal
location for skywatching by UFO enthusiasts and is also in
an area known to be a "hot spot" for UFO sightings
with a famous close encounter on nearby Dechmont Law, some 4
miles to the east. The area around Cairnpapple is also
reputed to be haunted by the Silver Man, a mysterious being
who can apparently run over 50 miles per hour!
Fieldnotes
Cairnpapple is a place where you need peace and solitude to
spend some time alone. When you are surrounded by other visitors
it's still an amazing structure but it's not quite the same.
Another trip is planned.
